Bruno Pessani was born in Milan (Italy) in 1937. From an early age he has felt the need to observe and paint nature. To put on to canvas mountains and urban landscapes. He was fascinated by the simple things around him. Things that gave him the inspiration for his first still-lives and landscapes visible from his window. These figurative oil paintings range from industrial scenes, chimneys factories and gas meters, to the places visited with his family during holidays. The Italian mountains and lakes the farmhouses and landscapes of Tuscany, birthplace of his mother.

Pessani’s early work was in water color. However, with time he felt the need to refine and perfect his work. In order to satisfy this need he began to frequent groups of Milanese artists making friends and working side by side with already known artists, competing with them until, after his marriage and birth of his two daughters he left to find his own independent artistic path.

Bruno Pessani is substantially self-taught although he has attended many art courses, of engraving (acid etching, puntasecca, vernis a noir etc.) and water color, of nude.Pessani has taught drawing and pictorial art in Milan (Italy) for the past five years. He is a member of several Milanese art groups (the Artist Group of via Bagutta, the Rosetun Artist Group, and The Island Cultural Centre). Bruno Pessani was appointed academician of the Academia Gentium Pro Pace of Rome. His figurative oil paintings are collected in Italy and abroad.
